Reform Solutions
Insurance rates are an accurate reflection of what a company needs to pay policyholder claims. Medical and repair costs continue to increase, and auto insurers need the ability to assess and adjust rates so that they have the reserves available to pay policyholders when they have a claim.
Real reform needs to address the underlying costs of insurance, including medical treatment, lawsuits, fraud and vehicle repair.
The Coalition for Protecting Michigan’s Future is urging lawmakers to consider real ways to reduce auto insurance costs in Michigan based on consumer choice, such as Personal Injury Protection (PIP) options and fee schedule proposals.
